About Me

I am a learner first, and teacher second but find that one can seldom separate the two; education is a fascinating journey in how it demands that the mind be open regardless of whether you are the one teaching or the one being taught. Likewise, I find my passion for exploration and adventure to not be far removed from my passion for education, albeit for the heightened chance of physical injury. Embarking into the unknown is after all what education is ultimately about.

 

As a proud member of the Aorere College Social Science Department and Digital Advisory I am always seeking new learning experiences for what can only be described as the best students in New Zealand. As well as having the privilege to teach Geography, Social Science, and Robotics, I am the College's Digital Learning Adviser meaning that I also get to work with fantastic staff on a regular basis.

 

In 2016 I was part of the Learning with Digital Technologies Consortium with Cognition Education to further pursue a passion in implementing technology in meaningful and innovative ways. After graduating the Mind Lab by Unitec's Post Graduate Certificate in Digital and Collaborative Learning in early I have embarked on a Master of Applied Practice on developing a professional development framework for fostering the development of student metacognition.
